For Tuesday's Class

Greetings Everyone,

Come to class ready to create a daily schedule for yourself based on the categories we used in today's class. If you need to review what we did then please read Lesson 9 in your Roadtrip Nation experience. I would like to cover the activities starting on page 66 through page 69. If done correctly this should get you thinking about the practical ways to make your dreams and aspirations a reality. I look forward to seeing what you discover and share about yourselves.

Self-Confidence

Please read Lesson 8 in your Roadtrip Nation experience. I would like you to complete the assignments on pages 60-61. I know we started on Lesson 9 in class but I would like to review this lesson as I believe it can provide us with some valuable insights.

This all has to do with self-confidence. Everyone struggles with this at times. It is impossible not to if you are a human being. That's because at some point in our lives we will have to confront our insecurities and possible failings and decide how we want to deal with them. Often the way we resolve these issues will define us as human beings and will greatly influence how we resolve issues with ourselves and others. If you are able to honestly confront your problems, then you will have a better chance of overcoming them. If you lie to yourself or others about difficult issues, then the chances of resolving them become more problematic.

One way to learn how to resolve your conflicts is to observe how others do this. The assignments on pages 60-61 should help you to decide what qualities you wish to develop in yourselves and which ones you might want to avoid. This is due by 3:00 tomorrow. Please type your answers on google docs or MS Word.

Work vs. Life's Work

As we discussed in class here is the tonight's assignments which is due tomorrow by the start of class.

Create one or two posters or collages using Glogster or Tumblr. You will define and speak about the differences between work and lifework. What are the differences between the two? Can they be one and the same? What images, music, and text comes to mind when you think of work and compare and contrast it to your life's work.

This must be completed by the start of class tomorrow, Friday January 5th.
